PAW-SHIPS: A GIRL'S BEST FRIEND is a fundraising project by Sam of Pawtastic Photography

 

Showcasing women and the special relationship they have with their dog through stunning photography and a contemporary, limited edition Coffee Table Book, we flip the notion that dogs are man's best friend on its head - all while raising funds and much needed awareness for Maggie’s Rescue, a charity that fosters and finds homes for adoptable pets in need.

A 30 minute photo session for one dog + one woman

Photoshoots will take place at pre-determined locations in the Greater Sydney area.

The $90 Registration fee includes your custom Pawtastic Photography Session and a double page spread in Paw-Ships. 50% is donated straight back to Maggie’s Rescue.

 

 

Paw-Ships is a special edition, hardcover coffee table book that is professionally and lovingly designed right here in Australia.

Paw-Ships will be published before Christmas 2019 and available to purchase from approximately $95 + delivery.

 

 

To have your dog included, simply register below. After the registration period closes, I’ll be in contact with you to discuss locations, times, dates and most importantly to learn more about your dog.

We had a fantastic session with our dog Jett. Everything was so straight forward and easy. Sam’s communication and auto reminder set ups etc were very helpful and also the what to do to prep info. What blew me away was how Sam interacted with our dog. She was mindful that he was an animal and instead of getting him to do poses that were difficult she was able to get the pictures of him being who he is...a bit playful and a bit serious. Very professional and extremely talented. Highly recommended.

What an amazing experience! Samantha made not only our dog Banjo, but also us feel welcomed and comfortable from the outset with her warm, friendly, fun and professional manner.   • Can I include more than one dog + one person?

    Absolutely! This is the perfect time to include your whole fur family. I'm more than happy to extend your session time (with a $50 fee) to photograph everyone plus there is a $10 fee for each additional pet/person. Just make sure to choose 'YES' to a Session Extension & then choose how many extra pets/people you need from the options when you register.

  • Where and when do the photo sessions take place?

    Sessions will take place from March - June 2019 at pre-selected locations around Sydney. You'll be able to book in your preferred date and time in the area you want ie Eastern Suburbs, Inner West, South Sydney etc. After the registration period closes I'll be in contact with each participant to give them their exact session location (within their chosen area).

  • Can I buy photographs and digital images?

    You sure can - you'll have an opportunity after your session to view the images and buy what you like. You can see the full price list here >> Pricing Guide

  • Will my dog definitely be in the book?

    Yes! Every dog who registers for this project will get their own double page spread and story in the coffee table book.

  • Will my photograph be in the book too or just my dog's?

    The book will mainly feature photographs of the dogs by themselves, with the corresponding text telling of your story and friendship. Occasionally there may be a photograph chosen that includes you too but you'll be asked in the questionnaire I send out before your session, whether you are happy to have your image in the book.

  • Will I be able to choose the photograph for the book?

    I'll definitely grab some feedback from you regarding your favourite images but I can’t guarantee it will be your favourite that’s included, as I’ll be choosing the images that suit the rest of the book best.

  • Do I have to be photographed too?

    Not at all. If you're more comfortable behind the scenes instead of in front of the camera, that's completely ok. The book will mostly feature photos of the dogs by themselves anyway - and I'll share your story in the text.

  • My dog can't go off leash, can he still be photographed?

    Absolutely! That's not a problem at all. Most of the dogs I photograph are actually on lead - I then digitally remove their leash later.

  • When will the book be available?

    I'm aiming to have the book available for sale by November 2019

  • How much will the book cost?

    I don't know the exact cost yet (since I haven't designed it) but I expect it to be around $95 + shipping

  • When do registrations close?

    Registrations close on MONDAY 18TH MARCH 2019. I may open an additional registration period later in 2019 but I can't guarantee it. Best to book in now so you don't miss out.

  • What charity are you partnered with?
